ARE KENYANS BECOMING TOO HYPOCRITICAL IN THEIR CRITICISM?

I am not perfect, and these concerns are not written to show how righteous I am. I am concerned because together we are degrading the morals of the people of Kenya, and for someone who is concerned about future generations, I plead that you may all think, not necessarilly like me, but with me.

I remember accepting her friend request on my facebook account. Well, her profile photo was rather suggestive and surely was an accurate representation of her wanting morals. So, come this day and she is having a countdown thats keeping men at bay. Apparently, they are on hold since she has promised to upload a nude photo of herself. Then there it comes and she's laying on bed spreading everything for all to see. The reactions rather shocking, people literally demonstrate their new befound right, they want another, another and another. Its rather disturbing though because finally everyone was now arms up, criticising and demonising her character and morality. The same people who were probably oogling and drooling for more. Mind you, im not trying to claim that her morals are upright. She infact is rotting. But my major concern is these hypocritical Kenyans who rush to criticise after they themselves have been accomplices in a rather remote and indirect manner. Yesterday night, a local radio station show host and Kenya's number one hype man DnG posted a photo of yet another similar character. As expected, many rushed to criticise the individual in the photo, and this set me to realise that most Kenyans are hypocrites. After they have had their 'fill', they seem to then realise its all wrong. The fact remains though, most of us are hardly any different from them.

We as Kenyans have developed a bad attitude towards the increasing social misdoings. The fact that we ourselves have not been caught, or rather, just because we are not in the cast does not mean we are better. Think of it this way, prostitution has been on the rise in the country. Blame it on poverty, western influence, drug abuse or whatever you may wish. But supposing some man somewhere opted to alter his directive towards women and thus realise that picking up a prostitute in the streets is wrong, wouldnn't we have curbed its increase? Most men however promote such an evil by constanly being faithful clients. If there is an operation and she is caught and paraded before journalists, you'd think that prostitute had been transacting her illegal business with aliens, because everyone will be ready to cast a stone, including her last night customer. Jus to hide his guilt in the twist of events.
The kind of the society we have become is wanting in direction. Our Church Leaders have failed. We almost lack mentors and leaders to give direction. Even what is meant to be our God-ordained brother-keeping duty seems we have failed already, since theres no way a blind man can lead another blind man.
The other day, a young girl in our neighbourhood got impregnated by her long term boyfriend. Well, pretty much a common occurence in the society nowdays. What is rather intriguing is how a mother who advocates for abstinence, or rather sex after marriage went round the neighbourhood tainting the image of the unfortunate pregnant young girl, yet, I tell you, her own daughter, if she got pregnant she wouldn't even be sure who the father is. Before she goes telling the mountains that fulani's daughter is pregnant, should't she first of all ensure that her own daughter is trekking the right path?
If we all want to change the world, we need to start by changing ourselves. We are too fast to complain for the degrading morals that we ourselves have given suitable grounds for this. I mean, if you dont buy that porn-flic in the streets, you'll give give that vendor and that actor/actress an opportunity for him/her to reflect her actions and analyse whether its right or wrong. How many of us think that way before we rise up to criticise those in the cast?
As a matter of fact, the more we blurt out about their actions the more we are dancing to the tune of their flutes. The moment a lady, whether a musician or just a crazy one from the streets and has the privilidge of owning a camera, decides to bare the shame and goes nude, and the pictures are circulating the net, she wants us to talk about it, to give her that public attention. Yet that is exactly what we do, making them feel like conquerers at the end of it.
First and foremost, we need to understand that the main aim for these kind of attention seekers, its jus that, attention seeking. The moment they come out and we give them just that, we are giving them urge to pursue their wildest adventures.
You remember the swaggeriffic bash? Well, you should have heard those cheers at the particular juncture those laidies were mis-behaving on stage. Instead of later coming out later on to literally burn those characters, those that were honestly concerned should have made it clear when they were witnessing the demonic acts, *rather a harsh way to term it, er?*

Or better still, the infamous Muliro Gardens photos that shocked the nation. Just because those were taking adultery to great extremes does not mean that they are different from those that conduct their extra-marital relations in the lodgings. Same way, how do u hook up with your clande then critcise the guy who's been busted in the afternoon Classic busted show?
Our morals are at stake. University schools have been converted into pornstar moulding institutions. Because all we do is talk and publicise, simply irrigating the upheavals of immorality. Its time we realised talk is cheap, lets not confuse motion for progress.

Hypocritical criticism is the worst aspect of criticism, its a waste of time and talk. People who are themselves immoral hide in the shadows of hypocritical criticism to conceal their guilt. They say if you are not part of the solution, you are a part of the problem. Talking and criticising blindly is being part of the problm. Too much has already been said, alot needs to be done. Its starts with you and me, and thats the only way we can get those who are lost.

Our bodies are the temples of the Lord. Those of us who are abusing our bodies are doing an injustice to ourselves and to the Lord. Where will our children grow up if our society is becoming this cold? Before you make that mistake, search your soul, give it a thought, is what you are doing really worth it?
